About Us
Hey there! My name is Jacob Swisher and I'm the founder of EZ-EAP. Like many others, I fell in love with sports medicine when I was sidelined due to a high school football injury. The countless hours spent rehabbing turned into countless hours volunteering as a student athletic training aid. Eager to learn more, and be as helpful as possible, I became a certified EMT my junior year.
This passion continued at the University of Virginia where I studied Kinesiology in hopes of becoming an athletic trainer. In my time at UVA I was fortunate enough to be an undergraduate sports medicine volunteer, working with some of the best athletic trainers and student athletes in the country. While I absolutely loved sports medicine, the part I loved the most was the emergency preparedness. My favorite tasks were checking the emergency equipment, practicing emergency responses, and ensuring all aspect of our EAP were ready to be activated. I took pride in being as prepared as physically possible to ensure the safety of the student athletes.
Around the fall of my junior year I came to the conclusion that I wanted to specialize in emergency medicine in my career. So in the spring of 2023 I graduated from kinesiology a year early and started the graduate nursing program at UVA.
Also in the spring of 2023, I took an entrepreneurship class with the goal of finding a way to streamline EAPs. It made no sense to me that in 2023, the standard of practice for emergency preparedness was paper EAPs, 911 calling cards, and emergency contact phone trees. So I decided to create EZ-EAP to help athletic trainers streamline their EAPs and ensure athlete safety.
